And all the other voices said....

"Way to bring in a presence and a presentation.

The way (MayStar) opened (their) set with the dropcloth/projection screen in front that was then backlit so as to create these abstract animation-like silhouetted ethereal beings...was...striking. Kind of slow-moving, painterly impressions, almost stick figures, well, really cool to the eye. (They) have visuals and vision.

And that's all that without mentioning the sounds emanated.

Spine-tingling sublime portraits of love travels. Shimmer and shake and heartquakes translated through voice and guitar and organized noise and beats too. Sonic glue to put back together the porcelain pieces of the recently departeds.

"The mood tickled my spine."

"If you like your indie to be raw, stripped down, and too overly intelligent for it's own good, then you should give a listen to this duo. Between the costume changes of vocalists May's clothing that she designed, lighting, stage props and the acted out songs, this bands live show is mezmerizing. Keep an eye on this band."

~DJ Narcolept, Faction-6: Artist Exposure, 2006.

"An interview with May Star. Never heard of (them)? You will. As yet unsigned to a record label, (May) has one of the most painfully bittersweet voices I have heard since Johnette Napolitano circa her Dream 6 days. She is also quite a hottie. I warn you in advance, the song "She Always Laughs (at the Most Horrible Things)" will stick in your head and you'll find yourself humming it all night long. Not a bad thing."
